MUSIC
Free Music Club Primary Thursday lunchtimes
Drums. They are not just making noise.
Many students who has come to music club can play drums in 4/4 time with the correct drum technique including some students in prep or foundation. This pattern they learn is used in thousands of songs. Some students also try to learn drum fills and different meters such as 6/8.
Keyboards
The keyboards are quite sophisticated they are velocity sensitive and they include over 100 sounds and the have a built in drum machine. Many students come to make their own music and some ask me for music to learn.
Guitars
I only allow students from grade 3 upwards to play guitar as it is a delicate instrument and it requires a lot of strength which the younger students generally lack at this stage of development.
Percussive instruments
Many younger students enjoy making music with the variety of percussive instruments we have. None of the drums we have to share are made from any animal skins. Have a happy and safe holiday.
